Life without google

Categorized Under: English, Technology 6 Commented

No one will know better than the Omani citizens how to live without google. Google as we all know has made an impact in most of our lives either in a good way or bad, but i don’t care much as long as i get what i am looking for.
Oman is a country not familiar to most of you readers. My friends and my daily routine is different in day to day but at the end of the day, we all turn out to be doing the same thing. Visit google website, for information, looking for good books, emails, blogs and many other stuff to mention a few.
So putting most of our day in the website has actually drawn our minds to it only not being able to login for an hour would seem like the end of the world. Half of the readers at least have not had this problem so thought to write to you all to stop for a sec and think what if, google would stop for a day, a week, a month, or…
i’d like to get your comments on this.
Good luck to you all.
My advice to you all guys is do not depend a lot in one site, Have options.

Err.. there are other search engines out there, you know? Use a different one if/when Google is not available for any reason.

I really don’t see the problem here..

I want to add little, the dependency on search engines are increasing. I got most of my code help or any type of hint from Google. To some how, the use of Google should be reduced. Your boss can give you internet-less computer to work on some task. Ohh need to prepared. But again such cruelty cant be happen. People know the worth of search engines and internet in our lives.

I wonder when people will ask Google, when they need to be marry, what type of spouse they will suit for, what should cook today…

for me, Google and Internet is a guru

(and don’t misunderstand, people know Oman :o )

i think what saud wrote is true if i can remmember my early days on the internet well i had hotmail email and used yahoo to search whatever i need and some arabic forums and thats it

since google started their huge services, search, gmail, groups, reader, piccassa, …etc.

i am now just another dependant on google

i cant do any thing on the net without my on net social life is trapped in gmail, my usual websurfing in googel reader, my participants and communication in google groups and google talk, even when i am working on software projects i need google beside me always !!!!!

what if google stoped providing what it is providing , i think that will effect lots of people’s

but i think they are going with don’t be evil very well yet.
